When not to be massaged?
In some cases, massage puts an increased strain on the body. Cases and conditions that make the performance of massage treatment contraindicated should be screened. Some of the factors listed below are a complete contraindication, meaning a person with such a problem should not be massaged. Some of them only exclude the massage of certain areas of the body or the use of whole dishes, but may not justify the massage in general or the acquisition of a medical opinion.
- Fever
- Infectious disease
- Acute inflammation
- Cancerous disease
- Recent trauma, postoperative condition
- Bleeding or taking anticoagulants
- Active phase of rheumatoid arthritis
- Advanced osteoporosis
- No hypertension set
- Joint instability
- Some heart and circulatory problems
- Varicose veins (the affected limb should not be massaged, but may be elsewhere)
- Weakened, alcoholic, incalculable state
- Pregnancy
- Menstruation (the circulation-enhancing effect of the massage strengthens the bleeding, and the antispasmodic and analgesic effect makes it easier to tolerate menstruation, therefore the massage requires individual consideration and decision)
If you have any of the above listed contraindications, please check with our massage therapists before your massage.
